Sumomo was not with her family the first nine months and I think she is using this time to hold on to them. Komomo is a wonderful foster mom and takes really good care of Sumomo. Sumomo seems to feel very comfortable with Komomo and is the most relaxed. Thank you for your video.

Poor baby girl is scared...she is desperately trying to hold on. She keeps getting handed off and it shouldn't be that way. Who nurses her? She never walks or climbs because she doesnt leave whomever has her. Always one hand touvhing and grabbing on.

Does the baby only takes a bottle? Mom doesn’t look like she breast feed.

She only takes a bottle. She was taken away from mother for many months, so mother’s milk would have dried up a long time ago.

My gosh does Sumomo have a face like Kintaro, and I agree with the size difference comments… kinny’s genetics come from smaller silverbacks…
    They are all gorgeous…

Poor baby. Even Riki seems to do better with Sumomo than Momoka does. Poor Sumomo is so scared. Hanging on for dear life. Usually big sister Komomo comes and saves her. Baby Sumomo seems content with Momma Momoko too but does best with big sister Komomo. Komomo has been teaching her to walk short distance s lately. I wish she could nurse her. The other babies seem to nurse alot whenever the mood Hits them. I hope Komomo let's the zoo Keeper feed her the bottle now. (I've only saw one Clip of them trying to give her a bottle. But Komomo wouldn't let her have it.) Maybe they will post more Videos with Sumomo getting bottle feed.😊

Keep in mind that Momoka was very sick and still isn’t fully recovered. She is also getting older and must tire easily. In addition, the baby was taken from mother early on, so there has been no bonding, which is why she is willing to let others carry the baby.

Is it normal to carry their little siblings so often? Poor sumomo can't even eat.
    This can't be healthy behavior.❤

Сумомо поэтому и боится, таскают её как куклу. Да ещё так опасно на высоте Момока хочет её оставить. Она бедная уже и не знает за кого цепляться😢🙏🙏🙏

Sumomo isn't a year old and looks to be half of Kintaro's height and so healthy with a pelt of fluffiness.
Riki is (10/2017) a year older than Kintaro (12/2018) and is double his size....
Riki has been quite independent for a while now.
Kintaro still acts like a baby... what gives?
Momoko is 3 years older than Genki, and if I didn't know that I would think Genki was the older one.
I think silverbacks can tell which females can produce the healthiest and strongest offspring and Momoko wins that title hands down.
Momoko raises her children to be strong minded and independent.
Momoko doesn't spoil her children because it'll make them have emotional problems later in life.... she loves all her children equally.
Momoko has a husband who loves her, she's a lucky wife and mother.

I believe genetics have a great part to play in the size differences. The brothers Haoko and Shabani are quite large; their dad Kibabu was also large. Momotaro is a smaller silverback, weighing about 419 pounds; his dad Biju was also smaller. It stands to reason Momo's offspring would be smaller.
It is just my opinion, but I don't see Kintaro acting like a baby. He plays roughly with big brother and spends times with mom. I saw Riki breastfeeding from mom on a couple of occasions during her pregnancy with Sumomo, and I saw Riki seek his sisters' attention while his mom was separated from the troop.
I just think the dynamics and personalities are different in these troops and can't be compared. Happy Gorilla watching!

Please, every gorilla in this world has a different personality just like humans. do not compare, do not judge and do not disclose. When a baby is separated from its parents in its first years or months of life, something is lost in this process. In addition, genetics is different for each one and the experiences or traumas throughout their lives also have an influence.

I was referring to Kintaro and he was never separated from his mother.
I never said anything about Sumomo only that she has a beautiful fluffy pelt and big for almost a year.
I was comparing Kintaro' with his uncle Riki and how different they are in size and self confidence.
      It's just my opinion.
Look up one word for the day : Anthorpomorphism.
      Good day 😁

Lucky Komomo- how wonderful/theraputic would it be just to hold, hug, pinch little cheeks of Sumomo! She is sooo cute; Did I just see Momoka (with Sumomo) cover her mouth when she coughed? at video frame time 5:49 - 5:53 ???? I guess I'm not surprised as Gorillas are like humans to me. Love them all.

Qué aberrante video!!!! No van a parar hasta que este bebe tenga un accidente. Porqué no lo llevan a una guarderia de bebes como él para que le den de comer y lo cuiden hasta que crezca. Hay videos que hacen sufrir viéndolos, como este.

The Dejeeco family the female Iriki carried her baby Ringo always until after his first birthday. Then didn't let him walk alot. But he's doing great. He's almost 2 now. Even catching up to his half brother that is 7 months old. Those two boys are always wrestling. I love watching them.
